Daily Announcements Homework for 7 Aucoin: Monday, June 27/11
It is with mixed emotions that today is my final update. Thank you to all who sent cards, gifts and well wishes-I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness more than words can say. Special thanks to the students in my homeroom who took time to create a wonderful presentation that I will always treasure. I wish you and your families a safe and enjoyable summer (hopefully, with lots of sun!!!). Mrs. Aucoin
1). Behaviour and Homework continue to be on-going issues. As we enter the 7th month of Grade 7, an improvement is needed if our students are to be successful in completing Grade 7. As such, in addition to creating an Academic Support period to supplement time spent on Homework, we will be returning to a Monthly Behaviour Tracking Calendar. Calendars will be sent home for each student indicating positive and negative behaviour choices-the goal is a clean sheet with no marks.
LA: 1). Students should be reading 15-20 minutes every night (even in the summer) using strategies such as: rereading to understand, using background knowledge and journaling. If a student does not understand certain words and rereading does not work, he/she should look up the meaning in the dictionary. (Reading and Viewing)
Reading only 10 minutes per day can result in students learning about 1000 words each year. Cunningham & Stanovich, 1998 Science: None French: None Math: None Social Studies: None. Phys Ed.: Bring clothes on Thursdays and Fridays. Health: None Tech.: None Art:** None
Music: Remember to bring in your own headphones.
OTHER:
1). Please note: excuses must be sent for students who are absent from school for recording purposes.
To help prevent any miscommunication between home and school, if you have any questions (missing tests, homework, etc.), or need to clarify information given to you by your son/daughter, please do not hesitate to contact the subject teacher at 658-5393. If it seems "odd" or "unusual" please check it out. We want to hear from you!
Hot Lunch/Milk has now started:Orders/$ will be collected on Thursdays for the following week. Students must submit an order form with the correct change (in cash) or a cheque. HOT LUNCH IS NOW OVER FOR THE YEAR.
Milk is available every day for 40 cents each. (white or chocolate) Remember it is your responsibility to get caught up when you miss a day. If this site has not been updated be sure to call a buddy!! If you have any song requests for the next dance, you can email Mr. Savoie at djsdogg@gmail.com. Make sure you give him the name AND artist.
